Shin Megami Tensei V Gets Progress Update For Nintendo Switch
Fans have been wholely excited since the announcement of Shin Megami Tensei V for the Nintendo Switch. Only a few sneak peeks have been granted to fans, but each glimpse has left everyone interested in what’s to come next. The biggest question weighing on everyone’s mind may well be how the development is progressing and a New Year group landed an interview that is giving some long-awaited answers.
4Gamer, a Japanese site, landed the interview with Shin Megami Tensei V producer Kazuyuki Yamai. During the conversation, he noted his excitement from the team to finally be making a title worthy of a console. With that in mind, he emphasized that the development stages are being handled with the utmost care to ensure the game is done properly.
Shin Megami Tensei V is currently in the storyboard part of the process as the art is created and narrative details are fleshed out and made whole. In what Yamai-san calls a “scrap and build” phase, integrating what is already created with the Nintendo Switch, trial and error is the biggest part of the process as they build the game from scratch.
While there is still a lot of development for Shin Megami Tensei V, the breadcrumbs along the way are certainly exciting. With the game having its last title on 3DS, it is understandable that the developer would want to take their time to get it right on a console. There is currently no release date set for this next title in the series, and while we may be a while off from that, the wait is promising to be worth it.
