Red Dead Online Beta Beginning Soon, More Details Revealed
Now that players have had a month to traverse the old West in Red Dead Redemption 2 and get into all sorts of shenanigans, it’s time for Rockstar Games to pull out all of the stops. Beginning November 27, the Red Dead Online beta will start to open for more and more people, adding a multiplayer experience to the mix.
Rockstar recently revealed the schedule for the upcoming beta as well as more details about the inbound game mode. Set to take place over the course of a few days, the testing phase will help “deal with the inevitable turbulence of launching any online experience of this size and scale.” The schedule for the beta is as follows (begins at 8:30am ET):
- Tuesday, November 27: All Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition owners.
- Wednesday, November 28: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th according to our data.
- Thursday, November 29: All players who played Red Dead Redemption 2 between October 26th to October 29th according to our data.
- Friday, November 30: All players who own Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar has kept rather quiet on details regarding Red Dead Online up until this point, but with the reveal of the beta schedule, new information has also been released. According to the developer, players can “head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole Posses in open world challenges and much more.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. No PC version has been revealed, but one can only hope. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
