New Earthworm Jim Game Is In Development

Earthworm Jim

Earthworm Jim arrived on the Sega Genesis and SNES back in 1994, with a sequel being launched the following year. Since then, the side-scrolling run and gun adventure has been loved by many, with fans wondering if anything new would appear out of the series. Well, the day has finally arrived, as a new Earthworm Jim game has been announced, but there’s a catch.

The catch is that you will need the upcoming Amico console from Intellivision, which is set to arrive in October 2020, in order to play the Earthworm Jim game. Luckily, the original creators of the popular title are reuniting to create a new entry. Intellivision boss Tommy Tallarico also happens to be the composer of the first two Earthworm Jim installments, and there will be a total of nine other team members that are returning.

“We have been talking about this moment for many years, it’s a dream come true to finally get the entire team back together,” said Tallarico. “We’re looking forward to sharing a small part of our reunion and initial design meeting with fans from around the world.” The team will be getting together for a livestream that is set to take place on Saturday, May 4th at 2pm CT.

As for the Amico console itself, which will arrive on October 10, 2020, it packs quite the punch of fun. The console will range from $149 to $179, with all of its games being downloadable and priced from $2.99 to $7.99. You can read more about it in the description of the video above.
