A New Cast Member Has Joined Ash vs Evil Dead Cast – Groovy!

Back in October, the cast and producers of Starz’s Ash vs Evil Dead revealed that the show would be renewed for a third season, exciting fans wholeheartedly for more Deadite laden monster-fun. So far, with two seasons under our belts, we just can’t get enough of Bruce Campbell’s spectacular portrayal of the titular hero and his escapades with his unwitting sidekicks Pablo (Ray Santiago), Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo), and the Demoness Ruby (Lucy Lawless), as they battle the forces of evil to save mankind. Even though… you know, it kind of was his fault that evil came to Earth in the show, but what can you do?

Now, as we wait for the third season to come around, a new piece of information has been revealed: another cast member has been added to the roster of the show as a series regular! According to Deadline, Arielle Carver-O’Neill is the lucky actress that has been selected to make her Evil Dead debut this fall. The Australian-born actress will be playing a young woman named Brandy, “a smart middle-class American high school senior whose life is up-ended when she finds herself caught up in violent demonic events.” It certainly will be interesting to see how her character has an impact on the show, especially since things ended so damn well during the finale of season 2. Then again, this is Ash Williams we’re talking about. There’s bound to be some way he can royally screw up the sweet deal he’s gotten for himself and his friends… especially if he’s got a super pissed-off Ruby after him!

So far, no other episodes have been announced beyond season three, but Campbell himself is hopeful for five seasons. In an interview with Daily Dead last September, he expressed his hopes and dreams for more seasons of the show, though he’s also admitted he wants the series to end on a good note, instead of stretching it out needlessly. Honestly, in the world of great television, that’s not such a bad idea, especially since plot devices can be recycled too many times, causing the story to suffer!

I’ll take five [seasons]. No one’s gonna burn out at five. I got this a lot, “Hey, so Burn Notice ran, like, five seasons right?” I’m like, “No, it ran seven.” They were like, “Oh, oh.” And what it really meant was they stopped watching after five. And every shows has a burnout factor. The cast burns out, the show gets too expensive, writers run out of ideas, viewership declines. Every show has its arc. We want to end strong, and I want to put together a multiple year plan so that the writers know where this is going, the actors know where it’s going, and the studio knows where it’s going. Everyone should know where everything is going all the time, in my opinion.” ~Bruce Campbell (Ashley Williams)
