How Mortal Kombat 11 Changes D’Vorah’s Abilities

Mortal Kombat 11 D'Vorah

The roster for Mortal Kombat 11 is shaping up to be one of the best yet. The upcoming game will be introducing new fighters to battle against some fan-favorite characters from previous entries in the series, which means there will be plenty of combatants to choose from. That said, some returning characters will be receiving a few change ups to their movesets, including the likes of D’Vorah.

For those who don’t know, D’Vorah first arrived in Mortal Kombat X, and thanks to her unique mix of insect limbs, bugs, and more, she was a viable option when you wanted to bring down the hurt on opponents. Speaking with Game Informer, NetherRealm QA analyst Steve Brownback broke down how some of D’Vorah’s abilities have been changed in Mortal Kombat 11 to make her an even more worthy opponent.

“Her ovipositors are always out this time, whereas in Mortal Kombat X they only came out for moves,” Brownback said. “So she uses them more than ever.” However, when it comes to Mortal Kombat 11, variation is the name of the game, with players having more customization options than ever before. “[She has] moves that weren’t even close to Mortal Kombat X moves,” he said.

On of the new moves, paired with the proper variations, will allow players to launch a slow-moving bug across the screen. In addition to this, her wings can be used to fly around and even bring the pain with a bug bomb that can be dropped on opponents. “She has this new mechanic where she actually attaches insects to you, and they’ll float around you, and then she can have them bite you when she chooses,” Brownback continued. Bad news for those who are on the business end of this attack – you can’t shake the bugs off.

“There’s an ability you can equip where, when she dies, one of her babies comes out of her, and you control the baby,” Brownback said. He then went on to say that the baby has its own moveset, tasking the opponent with having to kill the baby in order to claim victory. It was also noted that despite the changes, D’Vorah is still very much a mid-range character in Mortal Kombat 11. However, according to Brownback, she’s downright “monstrous” in the upcoming title.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to arrive on April 23rd for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
