New Glacier White PS4 Slim To Launch Later This Month (Video)

Sony revealed today via their official PlayStation blog plans to launch a “Glacier White PS4” variation of their newest console, the PlayStation 4 Slim (not to be confused with the Playstation Pro). This will be the first color variation for this model of the gaming hardware, which comes equipped with a 500GB hard drive along with a matching Glacier White Dualshock 4 wireless controller. Check out the thirty second announcement trailer below for a closer look:

According to Sony, this variant of their latest console case will be available in the PAL region only initially, meaning that it will be launched in Japan later this month on January 23rd for 29,980 yen for the (500GB version) and 34,980 yen for the (1TB version), followed up only a day later by the launch of the 500GB model only in Europe for €299/£259. What does that mean for us gamers who reside in the US? Unfortunately,  it means that we’ll have to wait to see if this very clean and sleek looking case makes its way across the pond. Personally, I’ll definitely be scooping one of these pretty boys up as it matches the color scheme of my home office, if the price point is right.

As for its potential US release date, we’ll have to wait for Sony to reveal a price tag if/when the Glacier White PlayStation 4 Slim debuts here stateside. Just in case you were wondering, no – there are no other discernible differences between this new version and the original black version of the console. Don’t forget the company is also releasing their Platinum Wireless Gaming Headset this month, as well.

What do you think of Sony’s new Glacier White PS4 Slim? What would be enough to make you consider purchasing a PS4 slim other than the color option?
