Warning to all Earthlings! The exciting, and quite frankly ridiculous, Earth Defense Force series is releasing another installment to the ever growing roster of games, and it looks just as wacky and intense as the other titles have been. Earth Defense Force 5 features the efforts of Earth’s only defense against a killer, alien-bug horde come to destroy us all and really make a mess in the process. These “Invaders” look just as creepy and hilariously ridiculous as they have in previous titles, and the promised story hearkens back to the rest of the series in comfortably familiar game play. However, there’s a new aspect that’s making its debut in the new title, and it’s sure to catch at least some attention from fans of the series. Not only with the Earth Defense Squad have to fight off those big ol’ nasties and keep the planet safe from annihilation (another day on the job), but they’ll be doing it with the help of Power Armor this time (no, it has nothing to do with Fallout’s power armor, that would just be cheating, guys).

Oh, did I fail to mention that the newest Invader is a giant, weaponized-up-the-wazoo frog? No? Perhaps it’s a good thing the developers added that power armor after all!

If you played the other titles in the past and are interested in learning more about Earth Defense Force 5, D3 Publisher, the creators of this outer worldly battle title, has just released a second trailer for the game’s upcoming release. Designed to look like an emergency broadcast message, the trailer offers up a a hectic look at the intense gameplay coming to PlayStation 4 this year. You can check out the trailer below:
