Dying Light 2 Studio Hints At “Exciting News” Being Revealed Soon

Dying Light 2

Techland revealed last year that development of the upcoming Dying Light 2 was in “the last stretch.” However, it was recently announced that narration designer Pawel Selinger parted ways with the studio, which made a lot of fans worried. That said, there doesn’t seem to be much to worry about as the situation was not as abrupt as many have thought.

In a recent statement from Techland (via PC Gamer), a studio rep noted that Selinger decided at the end of last year that they would be leaving the company. While this happened very recently, it was noted that Selinger’s duties were actually taken over in October 2020. “Paweł spent most of his professional life at Techland and he, among others, takes credit for the success of the series Call of Juarez,” the studio rep said. “He left a large piece of himself with Dying Light 2, as he worked on the project from the very beginning. His duties, ie. the narrative department, were taken over by Piotr Szymanek in October 2020.”

When news broke about Selinger’s departure, many were saying the art director had left, which isn’t entirely accurate. According to Selinger’s LinkedIn page, they were the art director at Techland from 2007 until February 2019. “We would like to reassure all fans of the upcoming Dying Light 2 that the position of Art Director is not threatened and has been held by Eric Cochonneau since November 2019,” the studio rep said. “Eric has been taking care of every aspect of the upcoming production ever since and the team under his leadership is doing their best to offer players the best game possible.”

Needless to say, it would appear that Selinger’s departure will not have much of an impact on Dying Light 2. Well, not as big of an impact as many had thought. That said, Techland did also add that they “will be sharing exciting news about Dying Light 2 soon.” Maybe this is when we will finally learn the release date for the highly anticipated game. Only time will tell.

Dying Light 2 is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and new-gen consoles. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
