Dragon Ball FighterZ Next DLC Character Possibly Leaked (VIDEO)

Season 2 of Dragon Ball FighterZ has been introducing a pretty nice assortment of new character DLC over the past few months, expanding the vibrant fighting game with newcomers such as Jiren and more recent inclusion of Dragon Ball GT’s Kid Goku. As there’s a total of six characters on the way and the season’s final fighters have already been shown beforehand, that leaves only one in the lineup left to be revealed.

While this spot would usually be a hot topic of fan speculation, it appears this remaining roster addition may have been leaked early. Revealed during the latest episode of ‘This Week on Xbox’ of all places, Larry Hryb a.k.a. “Major Nelson” can be heard listing off Dragon Ball FighterZ latest roster additions, the likes of Goku GT as well as another fighter that definitely hasn’t been announced before: Janemba, the interdimensional demon. Check it out in the video below at around 3:10.

As the addition of Janemba has not been referenced outside this video and is currently nowhere to be found in the game, it appears that Major Nelson revealed the character before Bandai Namco had intended. This is especially evident by the video’s on-screen graphic for FighterZ Pass 2, which still depicts a “Coming Soon…” tease rather than any indication Janemba was supposed to be confirmed. A follow-up post from Hryb was posted on Twitter shortly after the video went live, clarifying the mistake.

While it seems Xbox attempted to clear up their accidental announcement, it still very much looks like Dragon Ball FighterZ next DLC has been unveiled. It’s unknown when exactly an official reveal might take place, but confirmation seems like it’ll happen sooner rather than later. With E3 2019 on the horizon it’s likely the character might show up around then, but it’s also possible Bandai Namco is saving an announcement for EVO in August, given the game’s prominence in the esports tournament scene.

For those unfamiliar, Janemba is a pretty bizarre character in the Dragon Ball series, the villain having debuted in the film ‘Fusion Reborn’ as a blob of pure evil and subsequently taking on a more Satan-like appearance in his confrontation with Goku. This battle notably took Earth’s hero to his limit and beyond, ultimately leading to the debut of the ultra-powerful Goku/Vegeta fusion, Gogeta.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One.

What do you think? Are you hyped that Janemba is seemingly all-but-confirmed for FighterZ, or are you more shocked by Major Nelson’s mispronunciation of Dragon Ball FighterZ?
