The First Footage for Darksiders 3 Gameplay Has Been Revealed (VIDEO)
The fact that Darksiders is coming back is reason enough to celebrate. Just last week, THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games unveiled a multitude of screenshots from the third installment of the franchise. Not only was an exclusive first look at the environment, shots of action, and concept art released, come to find out players will get to take on the role as Fury – one of the Four Horsemen. She is described as “a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth” and utilizes the ability to shape shift. To give thirsty fans a taste of what is to come, IGN has teamed up with the developers for a first look at 12 minutes of Darksiders 3 gameplay. Check it out below:
It’s good to keep in mind that this is pre-alpha content and a lot of work will be done in polishing and finalizing the game before its eventual release in December 2018. It’s more than a year away so there’s a lot of time between now and then for development and outsider input.
Playing as Fury, she must defeat the seven deadly sins and the servants in a post-apocalyptic setting. Of course, the trademark Darksiders art style is still very apparent. The main character is very acrobatic and uses a whip as a weapon which, in fact, can grapple. About 8 minutes in, viewers get to see one of the seven deadly sins that must be defeated. Sloth looks like a giant, green insect with plenty of crab servants to go around. It doesn’t look like these boss fights will be quick or easy and may require a bit of strategy and planning to take them down. Get tactical!
Darksiders 3 is anticipated to release by the end of 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Pre-orders are now available. So, what do you think of the Darksiders 3 gameplay footage so far?
