Bowsette Lands In Mario 64 With New Mod (VIDEO)

Bowsette

The Bowsette hype has been slowly winding down after a Nintendo trailer inspired a cute fan comic. From there, and to varying degrees of adorable and depraved, the internet has taken the idea and run with it. Now a fan has commissioned a modder to include Bowsette as a playable character in Mario 64.

The Bowsette mod was created for Mario 64 on the PC, given that the original cartridge doesn’t have a way to support mods. Well known creative Kae Emanuar made the character after a fan commissioned him on the project. Check out the addition to the title and his hilarious reaction to the commission below:

Part of the fun of this mod is that the character is more than just a skin for the game. Bowsette spits hot fire like a Soundcloud rapper, but with fewer face tattoos. Don’t worry, there are no face tattoos. Emanuar also selected the kind of voice he thought Bowsette might have, making this a much more unique mod.

The mod was born from a new Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe trailer, set to release January 11th, 2019 on the Switch. While the meme has evolved into imaginings of other characters wearing the crown (Boosette is bae), and buried in moths, we’re sure this isn’t the last we’ve heard of Bowsette. Players interested in the mod can check it out here. What other characters would you like to see a mash-up of? Join in on the conversation in the comment section below!
