Witcher 3’s Executive Producer Gives His Opinion on Cyberpunk 2077 [VIDEO]
The continuing success of CD Projekt RED’s (CDPR) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has earned them more awards at this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. In a pre-show interview, Witcher 3’s Executive Producer, John Mamais, gives a quick and promising opinion of CDPR’s next big game, Cyberpunk 2077.
The interview featured Mamais and Doug Cockle, who is the voice behind the Witcher series’ Geralt of Rivia. The pair spoke of the Witcher franchise’s ten year run. Mamais stated:
“A lot of guys have been working on the franchise for a really long time. You know, like ten years. So I think a lot of the guys are probably burned out on the fantasy and medieval fantasy, and so the new title gives us something interesting and completely new to work on. So a lot of people are excited about that.”
CDPR has been very hush hush about the new title. Bringing up the new title prompted the interviewer to try to squeeze some information out of the executive producer. Mamais, while grinning and keeping to the secrecy, replied:
“I can’t tell you shit. I can’t tell you anymore. My throat would be cut if I said anything about it. It’s going to be really, really, really fucking badass, I can tell you that much.”
No new information was given about the upcoming title, but it is promising to see John Mamais excited for the game. After all, with Witcher 3’s continuing success, we think it’s safe to say that he knows what he’s talking about. CD Projekt RED representatives have previously stated that Cyberpunk 2077 will be “more ambitious than Witcher 3.” Though three years old, you can check out the official Cyberpunk 2077 trailer below.
