Take a Look at the Latest Trailer From the CBS Series Star Trek Discovery (VIDEO)

STAR TREK DISCOVERY

Star Trek fans got a treat at San Diego Comic-Con when CBS unveiled a new trailer for Star Trek Discovery. Those hoping to get a broader idea of what’s coming in the new series got just that with this recently released video. Check out the incredible peek into the coming series below:

The new Star Trek Discovery trailer features Sonequa Martin-Green as Lt. Commander Michael Burnham opening the video with a short speech on the way the world is: chaotic and sometimes illogical. We see images of desert planets, tension, danger, and some graphically awesome looks at the new ship. Before getting into the meat of it, she ends by saying that “…sometimes when you’re lost, you’re found.”

From there we visit the Klingons, being told that the race has spent years in disarray. Seemingly awaiting a foe “worthy of their attention”, the Klingons are reemerging to wage war on the Starfleet. Fans also got a glimpse of Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd and a teaser at the advent of the warp drive in the Star Trek Discovery trailer.

Beyond the stunning visuals and big questions, it was also revealed in the new trailer that the Lt. Commander is surrogate daughter to Vulcan ambassador Sarek. This makes her, to some degree, Spock’s sister after being taken in when her parents were murdered. While the series is set years before Kirk takes the helm of Enterprise, the tie-ins certainly make things exciting.

Star Trek Discovery is set to air Sunday, September 24th on CBS. It will also be available on demand on CBS All Access with the second episode available immediately after broadcast. From there, the episodes will be available every week to CBS subscribers in the US. The two part 15 episode series will air from Sept. 24th to Nov. 5th and then pick up again for the second half January of 2018.
