These Voice Acting Fails Will Make You Cackle With Laughter (VIDEO)
When voice acting is done well, you hardly notice any hiccups throughout a campaign gameplay. In fact, the work of professionals lend for a more immersive storytelling experience. Take the Overwatch cast for example, adored not only for their impeccable talent in bringing our favorite heroes to life, the community has extended their love to the actors themselves! The following compilation of voice acting fails on the other hand reveal just how important it is to invest in the people and how hilarious it can be.
Thanks to the genius minds at WhatCulture and the smooth shade thrown by Peter Austin, the team compiles 12 hilarious voice acting fails in video games. Challenge yourself to a “try not to laugh” with this:
Featured titles are Chaos Wars, Mega Man 8, Last Alert, Dynasty Warriors 3, Deep Fear, Resident Evil, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Sonic Adventure, Tenchu: Stealth Assassin, Michigan: Report from Hell, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and House of the Dead 2. Whatculture doesn’t overtly bash any of these games, especially since some are known for their well-executed storylines and fantastic gameplay. It simply shines a nice and shiny spotlight on some of the most noteworthy fails that will make you at least chuckle in concurrence; that or screech with laughter.
From random crying baby sounds to underwhelming cut scene acting, a lot of these mistakes either slipped through the cracks or they’re just outright trolls from the developers. Taking Last Alert for example – did producters intentionally hire a voice that sounded eerily similar to Mr. Slave from South Park or did it actually seem like a suitable role? Perhaps, we’ll never know.
