WATCH: Here’s A First Look At Nintendo Labo – A New Line Of DIY Projects For “Kids At Heart”

Nintendo has prepped likely all week for the presentation that happened today for a “new interactive experience” on the Switch, especially created for “kids and those who are kids at heart” and revealed exciting news. Introducing the Nintendo Labo, a brand new line of “interactive build-and-play experiences”. Essentially, they’re do-it-yourself projects for people looking to get their hands busy and create a 3D object from practically nothing! Of course, there’s more to it than that. Check out the introduction trailer below:

Combining the “magic of Nintendo Switch with the fun of DIY creations”, everyone begins a project with a piece of cardboard and from there – the magic begins. After completion, all Switch owners need to do is turn on their console to “power it up” for a truly interactive experience. Make your own functional 16-key piano, or a remote control for a robot!

That’s right, each Nintendo Labo creation is fully functional and can be used to play games. You can even customize them to your heart’s desire!

With Nintendo Labo, building is just as much fun as playing. Have fun discovering how it all works—you might even invent new ways to play with each Toy-Con creation.”

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has mentioned how important the second year after the Switch’s debut to keep a constant flow of content and games coming for gamers. Whether it be long-time fans or budding enthusiasts young to old, reaching different demographics is crucial for the growth of a company.

Make, play, and discover with Nintendo Labo when it arrives April 20th, 2018. So far, two kits will be made available, which can be seen here.
