Manhunt Trade-Mark Renewed By Take-Two, New Game In The Works?

Manhunt is a survival horror game that first came out in 2003. Both the first game and its sequel gained an incredibly loyal following despite being met with heavy controversy upon its release. Many were wondering if we’d ever get a third, but news on furthering the franchise has been dead silent … at least up until this point.

Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two officially applied to renew their trademark on the Manhunt name back in 2016, and now the approval has gone public sparking renewed interest in the series and what could potentially lie ahead. The approved trademark is good until 2026, which unfortunately leaves a pretty hefty window open for a potential announcement. Still, this could be huge for fans that have been waiting patiently for another installment – especially when looking back at titles like Shadow of the Colossus that were confirmed ahead of schedule because of trademark revelations.

They just killed Cash. Now, they want to kill him again.

America is full of run down, broken rust-belt towns where nobody cares and anything goes. In Carcer City, nothing matters anymore and all that’s left are cheap thrills. The ultimate rush is the power to grant life and take it away, for sport. This time James Earl Cash, you are the sport. They gave you your life back. Now, they are going to hunt you down.

You awake to the sound of your own panicked breath. You must run, hide and fight to survive. If you can stay alive long enough, you may find out who did this to you.

This is a brutal blood sport.”

If Take-Two needed any more convincing that a Manhunt title would be a good thing, just look at how gamers reacted to the horror game being re-released for the PlayStation 4. The excitement and anticipation is there, the approved trademark is there – hopefully we can see m this little seed of hope come to fruition sooner rather than later.
