More Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Concept Art Revealed by Nintendo

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might not be making the a Spring launch along with the Nintendo Switch, but Nintendo isn’t shy about teasing fans a little bit. Here and there, the official Twitter and Facebook pages for Nintendo and The Legend of Zelda reveals a tad bit more. Great for building anticipation, but not so much for the health of our hearts. Check out some of the newly revealed concept art for BotW, including some not so new ones below:

The first image, as seen in the gallery, is a concept piece for enemies called “Guardians.” According to the Official Nintendo Facebook page, they will appear in “a variety of sizes and shapes.” Think of them as steam-punk machines (BioShock, anyone?) meet utility knife for hands. The second image shows the beloved Link admiring the sunset from the edge of a cliff, overlooking an expansive forest, large mountains, and tall city walls. Look familiar? Other fans have noticed it too, taking note that it is a revisited artwork from the original The Legend of Zelda (1986) for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Other images within the gallery have been revealed within the past year, like screenshots of game play and environmentals. The last two images exhibit some in-game screen captures. In one image, Link is engaged in combat with a Guardian and, from the looks of it, the enemy isn’t doing too well. The last one shows off an open world feel. With that field of view, how else does it look?!

From the looks of it, do you think Nintendo will bring back the darker and more eerie aspects of The Legend of Zelda the series is known for? Or will Nintendo continue in a different direction? Let us know in the comments section down below, we would love to hear from you!
