Marvel Studios Reveals Avengers: Infinity War’s Thanos and the Black Order

Black Order

Marvel Studios has been making hit after hit over the years, this summer seeing the release of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 and the webhead’s newest film Spider-Man: Homecoming. While the year still has more to give, 2018 will see the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far, bringing together the mightiest of heroes to take on the threat of Thanos. It seems the Mad Titan’s quest to obtain the six Infinity Stones won’t be taken lightly, as the powerful foe will assemble his own team to finally get the job done. At the D23 event, we’ve now gotten our first look at the fearsome Black Order in all of their glory, which you can view below.

The comics version of the Black Order have been in pursuit of the powerful Infinity Stones / Gems numerous times in the past often going up against The Avengers. Membership of the group varies based on the incarnation, but based on the above image, it looks like Marvel is using the lineup of Corvus Glave, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, and Black Dwarf for Infinity War.

The photo by Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito and Marvel themselves call the dark-themed team the “Children of Thanos”, but it’s unclear if that means they are blood-related or if the title is symbolic like with Guardians member Gamora.  This information and more should arrive as Avengers: Infinity War‘s May 4, 2018 release date draws forward.

What do you think? Are you loving how cool the Black Order looks, or do you need to see more of them to make a decision? Does the movie version of Avengers stand a chance?
