Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis Announced For TEKKEN 7 (VIDEO)

Noctis joins TEKKEN 7

If you were to list a few things that you wouldn’t expect to happen in the world of video games, a Final Fantasy character joining the TEKKEN roster may be one of the things listed. Nevertheless, here we are; Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis Lucis Caelum has been announced as the latest entry in the TEKKEN 7 roster. The good folks over at Bandai Namco Entertainment America made the announcement with a special reveal trailer, which can be seen below:

The reveal trailer is actually beautiful in its execution. It starts out with Noctis taking a phone call while he and his friends are hanging out around Hammerhead. He agrees to do his friend “Lars” a favor, and after a brief conversation with Ignis, Gladio, and (best boy) Prompto, we see him run off to do battle with some of the TEKKEN 7 roster. The whole thing is treated as an FFXV quest, which is a nice touch.

Noctis Lucis Caelum from Final Fantasy XV enters the TEKKEN 7 ring! Wielding his signature Engine Blade, Noctis is ready to deal heavy hard-hitting blows as he takes on the likes of Yoshimitsu, Devil Jin, Jack 7, and the rest of the TEKKEN 7 fighters when he enters the King of Iron Fist Tournament in spring 2018!”

Noctis’ fighting skills remain fairly true to FFXV, with the crown prince relying on both his signature Engine Blade and his collection of royal armaments to fight his enemies. Viewers are also treated to some of Noctis’ more magical abilities, which he uses via flasks and while in close combat. From the look of the trailer, it appears he has access to Fire flask, Blizzard flask, and Thunder flask, though it is unknown if each ability is different, or just a random visual effect. Both Noctis and the special Hammerhead stage are arriving on TEKKEN 7 in Spring, 2018. Tekken 7 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
