Fangirl – Honor Brigade’s Tom Stillwell talks new Graphic Novel
A brand new adventure by the man who brought us hits such as Honor Brigade, Toy Boy, and Underneath, brings a different kind of journey that gamers and convention goers alike can appreciate: Fangirl. Fangirl is a new 74 page, hard cover, graphic novel set to release Summer 2016 brought to you by the esteemed writer, Tom Stillwell!
With this new adventure he reaches out to the inner fangirl in all of us … with a twist. Alice, the main character and super savvy gamer chick, meets up with her online Guild for the first time at San Diego Comic Con. What could go wrong? Well … apparently murder. “On the run from a corrupt cop, Alice and her friends take to the con in hopes of blending in with the throngs of cosplayers, gamers, Whovians, Browncoats…the cornucopia of Fandom. And maybe still get that sweet, sweet action figure” (Stillwell, 2015). As Alice and her friends witness a crime they never thought they would see, they do the only thing that makes sense – hide – and what better place to hide than a microcosm of costumes, fandom and busied crowds?
With a cast of colourful characters that can appeal to everyone, Fangirl is sure to be a hit with all ages. A healthy blend of Veronica Mars meets Scooby Doo, the twists and shenanigans that this group of friends encounter is sure to be a wild ride. Does what happen at comic con stay at comic con?
