Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham series was brought into the virtual reality dimension last October as a PlayStation VR launch title. For the first time, players could experience a classic detective story from the visual point of view of the caped crusader, using the immersion of VR. Since Batman: Arkham VR‘s launch, the only way gamers could live out their Dark Knight superhero fantasy was if they owned a PlayStation 4 and VR headset, but as publisher WB Games recently announced, this exclusivity will not be the case for long.

In Warner Bros’ press release,  it was announced that Batman: Arkham VR will available for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift beginning on April 25th. The new adventure is to carry full gamepad support, including functionality for those nifty Oculus Touch and Vive Controllers. The two motion peripherals’ were shown off in the newly released trailer for the new VR adventure, which can be seen below:

Also included in the statement was Rocksteady’s creative director Sefton Hill, who revealed a bit about the the team’s experience bringing their virtual reality game to the PC:

Bringing Batman to VR was a very rewarding experience for us here at Rocksteady. The Dark Knight has always been an incredible character to work with due to his psychological depth, so it’s really exciting to use this immersive medium to delve deeper into his psyche than ever before” said Hill. “We’re thrilled that PC players can finally wear the cowl for themselves and take on the role of the World’s Greatest Detective with the addition of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift versions.”
