Studio Confirms Andromeda’s Final Update – Fate of the Quarians to be Revealed and More

After months of “will they, won’t they,” the smaller studio at the helm of the latest Mass Effect adventure, Andromeda, took to social media in a message to their fans confirming that single-player support has officially ended for the space title. Since the game’s rocky launch, a series of patches have since fixed many of the issues players were facing including character animations, plot fixes – even romance options. Unfortunately for those looking forward to DLC, the studio has now put out their final say.

For those that played Andromeda, there was one particular moment during the end-game sequence that showed the potential for DLC centered around the Quarian ark. In their message to fans, BioWare did state that the fate of the Quarians will still be revealed – though not in the medium expected, “We will continue to tell stories in the Andromeda Galaxy through our upcoming comics and novels, including the Quarian ark.” You can read the full message below:

Despite Andromeda doing well in sales amidst the conflicting response after the game’s launch, the news of the end of this particular journey was one that many didn’t want to hear. Though not unexpected for some, for others – the enjoyable ride came to an end far too soon. Andromeda was meant to only be the first step and many of the decisions and plot points during the narrative showcased the desire to flesh out the story at a later date through a sequel.

The Mass Effect franchise may not be coming to a full closure, however. This statement is in regards to further content for Andromeda, the latest title. Perhaps we will see another narrative in the future in this beloved universe the team has created. With ample fan feedback in recent months and moves that BioWare’s publisher, EA, has made to increase funding, we hope to see more from our favourite aliens in the future.
